A very warm welcome to all the well wishers of Holy Shrine Inter College
Founder Chairpersons
Hon’ble Late Mrs. Vedwati Dixit

Hon’ble Mrs. Usha Shanker

The school started with a vision of imparting holistic education for children in 1992 in a small house in Indira Nagar. It was started by Late Mrs Vedwati Dixit, W/O Late Sri Shambhu Narain Dixit, both freedom fighters who actively worked side by side with the likes of Sri Vinoba Bhave , Ram Manohar Lohia and Sri Ram Krishna Bajaj for the upliftment of society. Mrs. Vedwati Dixit was one of the first women graduates of India who studied in Gurukul Kangdi, Dehradun and later taught there. She had studied all the Vedas, Upanishads and Darshans and was also prolific in Maths.
It was her desire to provide education to children at affordable cost and she laid down the foundations of Holy Shrine School. The school shifted to its present premises in 1997 with Mrs. Usha Shanker joining in. With her came her vast field experience of 25 years of working with the UNICEF and ICDS on Early Childhood Education . She brought in valuable insights on how to amalgamate the rural children with the mainstream. She wrote English Conversation Modules to familiarise children with basics of the English Language . She achieved the FICCI FLO award in 2017, The HT Women award in 2018, The PHD Chambers of Commerce award for Excellence in the field of Education in 2018.

EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
To Learn and Deepen Awareness of Environmental issues and realities.
To Reflect on our modes of living, renewing these towards sustainability.
To Empower people to take concrete action to resolve the challenges we face.( Daisaku Ikeda)
What should be the ultimate purpose of education?
I believe it is to become a better human being in every way, not only attaining progress, but enabling others to do the same.
Quality and equitable education is necessary to understand and address the complex challenges faced globally. The Sustainable Development Goals as envisaged by the UN recognises education as a universal human right. Education is a common good and hence it becomes a collective responsibility.
We have to understand that we are all ultimately products of our unique social and cultural milieu. Hence we must make a conscious effort to recognise within ourselves all forms of exclusion that we unconsciously harbour in our personal lives and make persistent efforts to remove negative tendencies.
Progress towards inclusive and equitable quality education should remain our ultimate goal.

I extend a warm welcome to all parents and students of the Holy Shrine School family. Today education is not just about classroom teaching. We follow a student-centric approach for the holistic development of the child. Parental support is equally important along with the methodology of the school. I wish for brilliant achievements of our students in academics as well as co-curricular activities. Together let us strive to scale greater heights. Teachers require suitable training to be effective online educators. It cannot be assumed that a good teacher in a traditional classroom will automatically be a good teacher in an online classroom. Also online assessments require a different approach. There are numerous challenges to conducting online examinations including limitations on the type of questions that can be asked. Further, unless online education is blended with experiential and activity based learning , it will tend to become a screen- based education with limited focus on social, affective and psychomotor dimensions of learning.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Chhaya Asthana
